#Greenland is losing hundreds of billions of tons of ice each year, and the melting rate is accelerating, with serious consequences for global weather , sea levels, and critical ocean currents. We are on the brink of triggering one of the first climate tipping points as Greenland’s ice sheets shrink.
Its strategic location in a warming Arctic region, and its wealth of increasingly available resources tantalize economic and political interests, like the American administration, with its potential bonanza worth 100s of billions of dollars.
However powerful interests see it, as #PeterWadhams and #PaulBeckwith explain, the loss of these Arctic ice sheets is not a bonanza , but a far more serious problem for life on Earth.

FacingFuture is looking for volunteers to help us spread the word about the ongoing climate crisis. In particular we need people with expertise in social media promotion, and video editing/production. Facing Future is a small non-profit organisation and the work is entirely voluntary, but brings its own rewards. We communicate by Email and hold meetings on Zoom, so you can help us out no matter where in the world you are.
