A month or two ago,
On OfferUp I spied,
A photo of a working game
The seller wouldn’t lie;
Three hours to his house
To find it doesn’t power on,
Smells like pee of a mouse
And the monitor is gone
Oh, hopes were up, but it’s a bust
No new game to play,
There’s no use in dwelling on,
The waste of time that day;
The market’s dry, new apps I try
But the story stays the same

A week or two ago
On Facebook I did find
A fair price on a Pengo,
Struck a deal, it was mine.
In a twist to this tale,
Got a message sad to see,
Cancellation of the sale,
A better offer he received.
Oh, hopes were up, but it’s a bust,
No new game to play!
There’s no use in telling him
It’s Facebook not eBay!
The market’s dry, I want to cry,

Now the ground is white
There’ve been no new games this year
A Christmas party tonight
With good friends I’ll share some cheer
But once inside I see,
It’s the game that got away
He’s held onto it just for me,
Asking only what he paid!
