Introducing a brand new concept for Mega Man style works - "Mockman" works, intended to "mock" specific game styles rather than whatever the idea of "Mega Man Style" is nowadays.
In this song's case, it's specifically styled after Mega Man/Rockman 1 (hence the title screen appearance). I've been hyper-focused on this game in particular over the past week or so just because of how equally soulful and jank it sounds. I've found a LOT in this dig, which I will make a separate video about - a first of its kind on my channel, I'm sure, so look forward to it!
Instead of FamiTracker, I used Furnace for this one - its abilities better lend Capcom2 engine recreations as compared to Fami - automatic gap between notes, variable number of ticks per macro step, the "broken volume scaling strategy" all enable vastly simpler instrumentation work in these tools while perfectly recreating many Capcom2 sounds.
As for the song itself, I was imagining a theme for a hypothetical "Rocket Man" robot master, taking place in some sort of launch facility similar to Launch Base Zone.
