Here's a re-recorded and re-mixed version of my original djent song, Meet Your Maker!
I made the original version back in 2018, which you can check out here: youtu.be/qkbeZLrOz_I

~ * ~ about the song and stuff ~ * ~
So yeah, I originally wrote and recorded this song in August of 2018. To give some context, I had been a fan of BTBAM, Periphery, and Tesseract for a few years and I had just recently familiarized myself with Meshuggah. Although, I didn't really "get" Meshuggah until much later.
This was one of my first times doing a crazy, off-kilter metric modulation and I'm still really proud of it! That clean bridge section was originally written in one tempo, but I heard this drum fill in my head that was in a different one. I made it happen and it turned out really cool!
~ * ~ production stuff ~ * ~
The original was recorded with my first guitar (a black RG321MH from 2008) and a Line 6 Spider IV. I sadly don't have either of those anymore, but I did get a natural finish RG321MH from 2009 to replace it. I also used Logic's Drum Kit Designer plugin for the drums originally.
For this new version, I re-recorded all the guitars/bass and replaced the drums with GetGood Drums.
For guitars, I used my Red preset for Archetype: Gojira (which you can download here: kadekalka.gumroad.com/l/rbcoos). As with the original, I didn't edit any of the guitar parts. I wish they were a bit tighter, but I just didn't feel like editing them lol.
For bass, I used the Ampeg SVTVR plugin from Plugin Alliance.
As I said before, I used GetGood Drums, but more specifically I used Modern Fusion for the snare and Modern and Massive for everything else.

![Xenoblade - On the Fallen Arm... - Ambient Rock Cover [VGMC]
This is one of my favorite tracks from Xenoblade. I just love how perfectly it fits the atmosphere of the area in which it plays. Ive tried covering this track MANY times, but I never got anything that seemed passable until now.
Its kinda how weird how this cover came about actually. I was jamming out to the track and then I just busted out a solo of out of nowhere. I recorded that solo and then I went from there to make this ambient, bluesy, rock cover. I hope I did the track at least some justice. :P

I decided to re-listen to the DKC2 OST the other day and I heard this track. Once I heard it, I needed to remix it.

![Megaman X2 - Intro Stage - Cover [VGMC] [Music Videos]
I originally started working on this as my entry for the Pixel Mixers January 2017 contest, but it didnt entirely fit the prompt so I decided Id do something else. Problem is that I already learned all of it and recorded most of it. Anyways, I got a drum kit a couple of days ago so I started learning how to play it for this song; Im hoping it turned out well. (Btw, the double kick part was fake. I cant play that well with double kick atm)
