Snow came to Wildwood...
Looks like 8 to 10 inches...
I haven't been out to find out..m 😂
So it's a lazy day getting nothing done...
Wasting time on the Internet...
Came across a video with my Friend Walter!
I used to play in his store back in the days when Marty ran the place ..
After Marty left and the partnership broke up, I became friends with Walter...
I was running Lucky's Fascination in Seaside,which Walters brother sold to me, and Walter used to come up from Wildwood to see all the new innovations I created and designed into my Fascination Machines!
Walter was always renowned in the Amusement Industry for his innovations with games, and as I kid I always looked up to him for his abilities...
To have Walter come to see what I was innovating was a proud thing for me!
I very much enjoyed showing him what I had designed and systems I created!
I knew he was more interested in copying what things I had done than he was to pat me on the back, but I was still honored nonetheless!
When I lost my lease in Seaside, I contacted my friend Walter to see if there was a place for me to buy in as a working partner at his Fascination in Wildwood, because after Marty had left, Walter was having difficulties trying to get someone to run the place ..
Walter didn't want me, stating that we were too much alike and wouldn't get along...
I replied that I didn't agree with that, but it is certainly his decision... Adding don't be mad at me then for opening my own place...
Walter didn't want me coming to town.
We spoke many times on the telephone where he would call and try to convince me to go someplace else ...
ANYPLACE ELSE as long as it wasn't in Wildwood.
But my choices were few and limited, so it was Wildwood I came to.
Walter was NOT pleased, and when he found out I was coming after having rented a location, I got the phone call at home where he told me that I was "an invader in his town,... a piece of s***... and that he was going to pound on my head as much as possible, to do everything he can to put me out of business as quickly as possible because he has to make a statement to the industry"...
I was always his friend, and I understood that he didn't want me as competition, and I tried to make him understand that I was not there to hurt him or his operation, and that I was still his friend.
I came, and needless to say Walter was not happy about it.
Things were done to hurt me and my operations, and I was STILL his friend.
After several years, it became necessary to stop what was going on, and I had no choice but to start a legal action to stop it.
It was years in court, and finally ended up at the State Supreme Court; I won 7 justices to O.
I was still his friend and always would remain so, although I think I was the only one who maintained a friendship which likely never really existed other then in my heart.
Many years have passed, and Walter passed a few years ago, but I still think of him fondly, as I am still that little kid who loved to play Fascination in his store, and I understand that he simply didn't want me as competition in what he considered his domain.
Life is too short for stuff like that, and everyone should always remain friends.
At least I do, even if it's not reciprocated.
