The North Coast Resource Partnership (NCRP) is a coalition of state, local, tribal, and nongovernmental organizations working together on integrated regional planning and project implementation to enhance working and natural lands, built infrastructure, local economies, and community health on California's north coast.
Ms. Karen Gaffney of the NCRP discussed one of the coalition’s highest priorities, fire planning. Fire planning for the NCRP incorporates satellite data and information from local residents to develop fine-scale decision-support maps that assist in identifying areas at risk of extreme fire weather.
The NCRP’s products integrate NASA and NOAA information to provide actionable planning tools to protect and sustain the North Coast Region and its quality of life.
Mr. Mark Tukman of Tukman Geospatial presented an upcoming Wildfire Fuel Mapper program, which allows landowners to acquire a set of maps for a land parcel that assists them with planning fuel and wildfire reduction.
