The Golden Poison dart frog ( Phyllobates terribilis ) is considered the most poisonous of all animals on the planet, using a toxin called Batrachotoxin. Now poisonous is not to be confused with venomous. Venomous is for offensive purposes while poison is for defensive purposes. This dart frog is not the most TOXIC in the world but the most POISONOUS. The most VENOMOUS animals in the world include Brazilian wandering spider, Box Jellyfish and the snakes Tiapan and the seasnake. Venomous will often involve fangs or claws or spikes. One of these small frogs (1-1.25 in. or 5 cm) has enough poison (on average) to kill ten full grown men. If this frog's poison got into your bloodstream it would kill you almost instantaneously.
