Seas the day! 🦭We’re celebrating International Seal Day with the announcement of an endangered Australian Sea lion pup!
Born 7-weeks-ago, this healthy female pup is now thriving under the care of her first-time mum, Tarni.
Tarni joined our breeding program in 2017 after being rescued as an orphan in South Australia, and gave birth to this 7kg pup on 31 January 2025.
Australian Sea lions are endangered, endemic to Australia and estimated to only have 6,500 adults remaining in the wild. Interactions with fisheries, overfishing and entanglement with marine debris threaten their survival.
You can help protect seals by choosing MSC-certified seafood, which prevents overfishing and bycatch.
