This is Mimi. She’s a fixture Okiboru, one of my favorite spots in the city for tsukemen, a dipping style of ramen featuring a rich, hyper-concentrated broth.
I love the tsukemen here, but it’s Mimi energy that really makes this Okiboru location on the Lower East Side so special.
It’s a cliche to say that a restaurant makes you “feel like family” when you walk in the door. With Mimi, it feels more like an old friend who’s just psyched to see you.
Come for the excellent noodles. Stay for some extra rays of sunshine that come from hanging out with Mimi!
