There’s something about Homebody by Maureen Cracknell for Art Gallery Fabrics that feels like a warm hug. The mix of tribal-inspired prints, floral blooms, and soft feather motifs makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.
In this video, I’m sharing a free quilt pattern that turns 10" squares (layer cakes) and a bit of background fabric into a bold tribal-style stitch design. The layout comes together with half-square triangles, giving it strong, geometric lines while still feeling soft and inviting.
This pattern is available in both throw and twin sizes, making it perfect for cozying up on the couch or adding character to a bed. While I’m using Homebody fabrics here, it works beautifully with solids, modern prints, or even a scrappy mix from your stash.

Throw Size: 54” x 56” Quilt.
42 - 10” squares
1 yard - background fabric
Twin Size: 63” x 80” Quilt.
70 - 10” squares
1 ¼ yard - background fabric
From background fabric:
Subcut:
168 - 2 ½” squares for the throw size
OR
280 - 2 ½” squares for the twin size
From 10" squares:
Subcut:
1 - 7 ½” x 8 ½” rectangle
4 - 2 ½” squares
