Introducing 2025 Astronaut Scholar Natalie Rawlings from the University of Arizona.
Natalie is pursuing degrees in both Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular basis of human disease, with a particular emphasis on protein signaling pathways and metabolites. She has spent most of her time studying the TORC1 pathway, which governs growth, proliferation, and metabolism for all eukaryotic cells and is implicated in cancer, aging, and many other human diseases involved in growth dysregulation.
