Meet Amber Clark and Rhianna Saina, sophomores in the Urban Ecosystems stream of our Freshman Research Initiative who recently presented their research at the Texas Academy of Science annual meeting.
Amber and fellow student Jaalah Shand studied the impact of air temperature and tree cover on the temperature of urban and rural streams, winning second place at the TAS meeting with their presentation. Rhianna’s research focused on how rain events can affect the temperature of creeks in the early stages of rainfall.
In this video they share their takeaways from the event and their time in FRI, as well as other ways to get involved in research.
