Inspired in part by Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea, Montaigne set out to capture the feeling of being alone on a small boat in the middle of the ocean. Using nautical inspired sounds like washboards, bells and ship-like textures, they created a sonic atmosphere that reflects the movement and energy of the sea.
