We’re excited to perform a world premiere by acclaimed Australian composer Liza Lim in August! Her ‘Salutation to the Shells’ was commissioned as part of our 50 Fanfares project, and in this interview Lim explains how she drew inspiration from the shells of the Sydney Opera House as well as the Indigenous shell monuments that lined Sydney harbour before colonisation.

Hear ‘Salutation to the Shells’ as part of our performances of Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony this August.
