Introducing 2025 Astronaut Scholar Harini Ram from the University of Michigan.
Harini is pursuing a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Her work is in Dr. Analisa DiFeo’s lab in the Michigan Medicine Department of Pathology, where she studies high-grade serous carcinoma, the most lethal subtype of ovarian cancer. Currently, she is researching how MYC and microRNA-181a synergistically promote fallopian tube oncogenesis and metastasis through enriched purine metabolism. She has also worked on an AI-driven drug discovery project in the past where she helped identify a novel targetable TNIK-CDK9 axis for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer.
