This song was created from the famous "Krell" patch, invented by Todd Barton who was in turn influenced by the soundtrack from "The Forbidden Planet" composed by Bebe and Louis Barron.

Simply, it's a way to configure a modular synthesizer to self-generate. Meaning, I set the parameters and then stepped away to let it run on its own. The sounds are slow, spacey, random, and a little sinister. I set up the patch on my 0-Coast and synced the pitch and clock signal to my softpop, blending in the softpop's soft pops (hah) for some added texture.
What resulted is 10 minutes of ambient, meditative bliss, in my opinion. This is my way of paying homage and honor to those who influenced a lot of scifi and ambient music in film and beyond.
