This was the first big classical violin solo that I learned! It is a very pretty violin solo, so I wanted to post it. ^_^ It is originally written to be accompanied, but it has such a pretty melody that I thought it could stand alone as just the solo violin part. Meditation is from the Opera "Thaïs" written by the French composer Jules Massenet in the late 1800's.
I played in the entrance to the Physics building of a university that I live by, which is why there is a pendulum in the background. Because school was out, there weren't very many people around, although a few doors closed when filming this. I tried to edit out the most distracting background door-closing noises. I hope my edits aren't too distracting!
I feel like this is a very revealing violin piece. It took several takes for me to get through it without messing it up too much. I hope my mistakes are minor enough to not butcher up the song! ^^;; I wanted to add bloopers at the end to bring everything back to reality, but that sort of took away from the whole "meditation feeling.." Maybe I'll do a general bloopers video of mistakes. That would be fun! ^_^
Thank you for watching, and if you enjoyed this video, please subscribe for more violin videos!
