There are several reasons why we might consider a medieval profession as the worst one ever. Usually it comes down to how dirty the job was. From a modern perspective, you wouldn’t expect to find collecting bodies or clearing out faeces from someone’s latrine as being up there on the dream job list.
But in the Middle Ages there were many other professions that were considered taboo because they involved working with money or coming into contact with blood, and not just because they were considered unclean. Let’s travel back to the Middle Ages and take a look at death, dirt and deadly sins.
