Hevelianum is a modern place to meet science, history and culture located in the very centre of Gdaลsk, close to the railway and bus stations. It allows you not only to gain knowledge and develop your interests, but also to enjoy yourself amidst the green surroundings of the historical buildings.
Hevelianum occupies an area of more than 20 hectares on Gradowa Hill. The latter is a fortified hill that rises to a height of about 50 metres.
Historians believe that even by the beginning of the 16th century this was the site of the oldest fortified town, which over time was transformed into a city. However, the whole area called Grodzisko was deeply transformed during the construction of the fortifications, and getting a clear answer as to what was the original nature of the area seems impossible today.
