Prison is a unique environment, with unique challenges to overcome for inmates and staff alike.
One aspect of incarceration I've spoken little of is interacting with medical staff.
Doctors, nurses, and MTAs (medically Trained Assistants, a sub-class of nurses unique to CDCR in the time I was there) have to do their jobs under the specific constraints of an institutional setting.
I will speak primarily on my experiences with medical staff, my perception of their experiences working in a prison, and the way that inmates and institutional exigencies make their jobs more challenging.
