I noticed a lot of people suffer from GERD! So let's talk about it and the options for treatment from a surgical standpoint!
UPDATE:
I made a mistake when I was talking about Barrett’s esophagus. The lining of the esophagus is made of STRATIFIED SQUAMOUS cells and NOT cuboidal cells!!
But the mechanism on how Barrett’s esophagus forms is still the same. The squamous cells eventually change into columnar cells.
