Bettina chose to study Media and Communication with us because she always wanted to work in media, especially sports media, and found Leicester offered the best combination of scholarship support, value for money and proximity to London without high living costs.
As an international student from India who had previously studied in the Middle East, she found Leicester to be a supportive place to experience a new education system and life away from home for the first time. During her degree, she undertook a transformative internship at Sky, where she applied the skills developed through her coursework, including essay-based writing that translated into script writing, along with practical experience in editing, camera work and on-set production.
Alongside her studies, she balanced a part-time job and co-founded the Media Production Society, further building her confidence, time management and teamwork. She encourages new students to be open minded, get involved and make the most of every opportunity over their three years at Leicester.
