President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to Retired Sgt. Kyle White of North Carolina. White is being honored for his valor in a deadly enemy ambush that left five soldiers and one Marine dead in November 2007. White, despite being wounded himself, continued to aid his comrades. "What you care about is...I want to to get this guy to my left and to my right..out of here," White said of his actions that day. "Everything I do in my lifetime...is to make them proud," he said of his fallen fellow soldiers. President Obama told White, "You make us proud and motivate each of us to be the best we can be as Americans." Background story: ow.ly/wO4hH
