I took a course on Shakespeare as part of the Theatre Royal Bath’s ‘Engage’ Programme.
This eight week course led by Alice Barclay was an eye opener.
In week five we were all given monologues or duologues to perform on the last day in front of an audience. This was my piece.
Claudio is speaking to his sister, a nun. Claudio is about to be killed by Angelo (the “he” at the beginning of the speech). Claudio was having sex before marriage. Then there’s something about Claudio or Angelo having sex with Angelo. I’m not sure, we only had a page of the play to work with.
I thought why do all that work and not share? So enjoy something different from the usual gardening videos!
