I will admit, I didn't hear much of Porter Robinson until I heard the Worlds live mashup video back in April-May and didn't hear his music until shortly after my holiday in Italy. But, when I did, my goly it was beautiful. It's nostalgic, elegant and emotional and is certainly one of the better artists in the 21st Century.
So, I decided to remake Sad Machine using the Mega-Drive soundfont but also MIDI Out (Plugin from FL Studio). This song just takes the much-memed (if you could say that) MIDI soundfonts and makes it sound like pure heaven. It's amazing. And, that's why I left one of the instruments the original because I don't think this song could be the same without it. Total of three days it took me and I'm pleased with the results.
