A Greater Meadow Katydid (Orchelimum sp.) eats pollen from a Woolly Rosemallow (Hibiscus lasiocarpos) flower at Sheldon Lake State Park, in Houston, TX, USA. She nibbles at the anthers in the staminal column, which reminds me a bit of how we eat corn on a cob. Reaching the end of one row of stamens, she turns to eating that pollen that was knocked down onto the petals so that good food isn't wasted.
