![Golden Sun: The Lost Age [0EXP Run] - Boss Battle #2 - King Scorpion
Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Boss Battle #2
King Scorpion
Game Overs: 6 (I believe. It was somewhere around 5-8)
[0 EXP Run]
The point of this challenge is to beat the game while gaining no EXP. Similar to that of a Low Level challenge, except a Gameshark is used to make all battles result in 0 EXP gains. I dont believe later stages would be too difficult, if I use Isaacs group, but I expect the early stages of the game to be somewhat challenging.
No transferring of previous Golden Sun data, so Isaac and Co. will arrive at their default levels, (which is 28 I believe). Felix, Jenna and Sheeba will stay level 5, while Piers will come in at 18 (I believe).
This is on Hard Mode, so bosses have increased HP and stats.
Save states are not used during the boss fight (if you to take my word anyway).
Strategy?
Pre-Battle Notes:
Mysterious Card should be equipped on Sheba, the boss is weak to fire, so Juggle is very helpful. Be sure to have an ample amount of Herbs on all your characters (especially Sheba, since she usually acts first due to her speed) for healing just in case Felix is busy using Iron. Make sure you have a Sleep Bomb on Sheba.
Felix ►
Using Iron at least 3-4 times will help increase the partys defense. Felix should be equipped with Themiss Axe for this battle, its Unleash, Stone Justice, has a chance of reducing Agility. This de-buff should allow Felix and Jenna to act before the boss. Later, he could use his Djinn and summon Ramses without much fear of dieing because of his high HP compared to Jenna and Sheba.
Jenna ►
Fume until she runs out of PP. When she drops to half-ish HP, be sure to heal her ASAP. When she is out of PP, Cannon is her best bet for damage dealing. Summoning Mars does a solid 100 damage, so thats also worthwhile. Upon running out of PP, shes not essential to winning, but I plan on trying to beat most of the bosses without a character dieing.
Sheeba ►
Juggle is her main attack of choice. She should also assume the role of healer, with Herbs, since she has the highest Agility of the party. I had her equipped with the Nurses Cap in case someone needed more than 60+ HP in healing (or in case she runs out of Herbs). When she runs out of PP, I worked on using Djinns until she could summon Atlanta. Sheba should be given that Sleep Bomb which is found in one of the previous towns, this was essential in buying some time.
This battle is pretty luck reliant. The boss has Twin Shear which can almost 1HKO Jenna and Sheba. Desert Gasp which will severely damage J or S, but still does quite the damage to the other characters that are targeted, plus it has a chance of lowering Defense. My gameovers were mainly due to the boss using Twin Shear and Desert Gasp on Sheba, usually killing her.
The Pirates Sword may have been using if I could get lucky with its Unleash, since it has a chance of inducing Sleep, but I figured it was more efficient having Jenna use Fume. Golden Sun: The Lost Age [0EXP Run] - Boss Battle #2 - King Scorpion](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/ptgKEEYIKB0/mqdefault.jpg)

Golden Sun: The Lost Age
Boss Battle #4
Aqua Hydra
Game Overs: 5-10

Strategy?
Piers is an important asset from the moment you get him. Shade is invaluable, and Piers joining at level 18 helps immensely. Shade plays a key role in this battle (and probably all future battles).
Pre-Battle Preparations:
- Make sure you have the latest equipment for all characters
- Follow this Djinni setup, it worked for me:
Jenna: 4 Mars (Unset all)
Felix: 4 Venus & Shade (Set All)
Piers: 4 Jupiter (Set All)
Sheba: 4 Mercury (Unset all)
Battle Strategy:
1st Turn:
Jenna -► Summon Meteor
Felix -► Cast Shade
Piers -► Cast Boreas
Sheba -► Defend/Attack/anything
2nd Turn:
Jenna -► Defend
Felix -► Set Shade
Piers -► Cast Wish (No healing needed? Do anything)
Sheba -► Defend
3rd Turn:
Jenna -► Use Mars Djinni
Felix -► Use Shade
Piers -► Use Wish (No healing needed? Do anything)
Sheba -► Use Mercury Djinni
4th Turn:
Repeat 2nd Turn.
From that point onward, repeat 2nd Turn & 3rd Turn till Jenna & Piers can summon again. By that point, the boss should be dead, or very near death.
The strategy revolves around Felix & Piers. Felix is on Shade duty (Setting and Unsetting), while Piers is on Healing duty (Wish). You want to have Jenna and Sheeba Defend when Felix is Unsetting Shade, and have them use a Djinni when Felix uses Shade. Piers is continuously healing the party throughout the battle with Wish.
Jenna summons Meteor since thats the bosss weakness, and she has the highest Fire Element power, and itll increase the damage of the second Meteor.
Piers summons Boreas since itll increase his Water Element power for Wish.
When Shade is used, no one should be killed no matter who the boss targets. Wish should be able to fully heal the party after every turn. Jenna and Sheeba should have no problem living when Shade is being set, as they are defending.
I thought I was going to have a harder time with this boss, but Wish and Shade helped make this battle a lot easier. It took me a while to figure out a strategy that worked.
Also, Im trying to make these videos looker nicer by adding a picture in place of the black background. Ill probably do this from now on with my videos. Golden Sun: The Lost Age [0EXP Run] - Boss Battle #4 - Aqua Hydra](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/qq5YQXmmm0I/mqdefault.jpg)

- What is Synthesia?
Synthesia is a game that can help you learn how to play the piano using falling notes.
- How does it work?
Synthesia reads MIDI files and generates the falling note (and sheet music) display from it.
- Where can I find more songs?
Search for your favorite song name or author and add the word MIDI to the search. Use Google/Yahoo/etc.
- What are the system requirements?
A Windows PC or Mac made in the last 5 years is usually plenty.
More details can be found at their website, posted above.
Notes about these videos: I did not make these MIDIs, thus I cannot control what color they appear as when they are being played through Synthesia. Most MIDIs are color coded to separate the left hand from the right hand, but some are not.
Regarding requests, it is best if you download the game yourself and look for the MIDIs yourself. It gives the best result as the game is not only free, but also easy to use. Plus, you dont need to wait on me to upload a video of your requested piece. Synthesia - 「The Myth」 - Endless Love [50% Speed]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/rQupQsUO5kU/mqdefault.jpg)
