Me in the infamous #JimmyKimmelLive sketch, or that night my aunt called my mom asking if she was aware her son was on some sleazy late night dating show. 😂
I was 19 and camped out for Revenge of the Sith at the Chinese Theatre with @liningup_net supporting @starlightchildrensfoundation. Jimmy Kimmel Live, then in its third season, broadcast every night from across the street. A producer came by our line pitching an idea for a sketch of a mock dating game, and I figured why not? 🥀
I remember talking on the phone with them on the drive from CSUN back to the line that morning. They let me pick how Jimmy would introduce me and who I’m looking for, and I came up with the “girl who can accept my eccentricities” line, which he used! After airing, the producer made sure to get my mailing info so they could send me a copy of the sketch (on VHS 😝) which I still have. 📼
During its 23-year run, Jimmy Kimmel Live has been a staple of virtually every Star Wars line-up. Every interaction I’ve had with the crew, producers, and Jimmy himself has been nothing but cordial and professional. By all accounts they’re some of the hardest working people in a notoriously brutal industry. And they all deserve to keep proving it. ❤️
