I decided to write a story for each song on *Sampler Platter*, and this one made the final cut early on when I was drafting the album. Originally, SZA was supposed to be the main character, kind of worn out from the false promises of the party lifestyle, but I ended up scrapping that concept entirely. That’s why she appears on the most tracks, but even without that storyline, the way the vocals and samples blend still hits just right. I was so into the tone of the bass that I didn’t even need to add too much guitar or anything—just two samples and drums to mainly carry the whole track.
