Over the past two years, I have seen more soapy friends shut their doors due to lack of sales than I have in my entire career as a soap maker. So many factors are at play, including the price of everyday home goods skyrocketing , the commoditization of cold process soap by bigger companies that land Walmart accounts, the market being generally over saturated, and social media pushing accounts that making unsubstantiated drug and cosmetic claims.
Every release, I stand in the room where all the soaps we made are being packaged, in just pure gratefulness. Gratefulness my family gets to work together, grateful to the customers whose names I recognize as using Royalty Soaps for years and for the new names that trusted us enough to try today.
