1. Tell us a little about yourself.
Hello, everyone! My name is Joanna, though most of you probably know me as Soshi. I am a socially awkward girl from Poland, a Gemini soul. During the day I work as a teacher, at night I edit videos. Aside of that I enjoy reading all possible genres, watching anime, playing video games, drawing and writing. I'm a big fan of coffee and coloring my hair
2. Why did you start editing?
It all started... many years ago. Back then I was still a kid and I always had a soft spot for music. What's more, I'm a hobbyist artist and I'm a rather aesthetic person. Discovering amv editing was like a revelation because it combines all things I like - music, pictures, colors, creativity. I am one of those editors who started with terrible slideshows on movie maker and here I am today, in MDS.
3. Why did you join MDS?
I am one of the oldest members. When I joined MDS, they had only two or three MEPs and could be seen as a not so popular studio. Nevertheless, I was a big fan of their works, especially Hika and Haru's editing. I was looking up at them. When I saw they're holding second auditions, I decided to give it a try and join. Then our nice leaders let me in and so I'm with them until today.
4. Any words for people who are starting to edit?
Hmm... despite being a teacher, I don't like giving tips. But if I have to come up with something, I would say that the most important thing in editing is creativity. Looking up at other editors, admiring them and dreaming to become as good as them is obvious, however constant judging your own works through lanes of someone else's style is going to lead you nowhere. You are never going to be like other editors because nobody is ever going to have your ideas, your style, your music choice, your fandoms. When you combine it all, it gives you - an editor. Don't be afraid to edit what your heart tells you. Many can say that I don't suit MDS and my editing is not as good as other members, but I still gonna edit how I like it. Editing is supposed to be fun, not a competition. If you remember it's your hobby and edit with passion, your videos are always going to be good. You can find inspiration in real world, in pictures, photographs. Have your eyes wide open and show yourself through your videos. We're waiting for you, young editors!
