AIR CONDITIONING JUST CAME TO THE MDC XT9. AND IT RUNS COMPLETELY OFF-GRID.
Our Team Members at the ROA Off-Road Experience Center in South Carolina just installed a Summit Zero Breeze AC/heater on an XT9 OGE, and it's putting out ice cold air, with enough cooling power for two MDC 9's. That means no more picking your trips around the heat. No more sitting out July and August. Wherever the road takes you next (high desert in August, a Carolina summer, a slow week at ROAMERLAND), you roll in and you're comfortable.
HOW IT RUNS OFF-GRID
The Summit Zero Breeze draws its power straight from the XT9's factory 400Ah Renogy REGO lithium battery bank. In real-world use, that setup gives you about 10 hours of AC runtime fully off-grid, a full day of camp life (cooking, naps, the dog sprawled out on the floor, everybody staying cool) before you need to top the battery back off. Pair it with the XT9's standard 525 watts of rooftop solar and most days you can keep the battery topped up and the air running for as long as you're parked.
WHAT YOU'RE BUILDING THIS ONTO
The XT9 Off-Grid Extreme is not a soft trailer with a novelty add-on bolted on. It is built for people who actually leave the pavement:
Hot-dip galvanized steel chassis with a lifetime warranty on the frame and A-frame
X-TRACK independent coil spring suspension with dual shock absorbers per side
12 inch electromagnetic brakes with an emergency breakaway system
Sleeps two comfortably on a custom 80 inch by 56 inch queen mattress
31 gallon fresh water tank and dual 20 lb propane cylinders
Truma Combi furnace with ducted hot water
Stainless steel outdoor kitchen
270 degree awning with a full annex that triples your outdoor living space
Dry weight around 3,300 lbs, towable by most capable trucks and SUVs
Add cold air to that list and there is not much this trailer cannot do.
