If I wasn't stuck behind a stupid big rig for most of my way here I'd probably have a solid minute to get my camera ready and lined up behind the sun. I wasn't expecting 1036 but it sure was a great surprise today. I did get it on the return run through the crossing which was okay.
Parmenter Road is the only other railroad crossing on the Worcester Line outside of Ashland and Framingham. It seems to be an access road for lands across the tracks from Westboro Road. It's also right there by the North Grafton Defect Detector which wasn't working today. Since CSX handed control over to MBTA the detector runs answers with the MBTA readout. Must have been under maintenance because none of the trains I saw there activated it.
Parmenter Road Crossing is very narrow. The signals here are Ex- Conrail with WCH gate mechanisms and Safetran 8 inch lights. The gate lights and WCH electronic bell are much later additions.
