Back in 2016, I had a silly idea for then-Mazda Motorsports boss John Doonan to act like an orchestra conductor and put on a 16-rotor symphony with the Mazda Heritage collection at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports reunion. Since then, the Mazda rotary warmups have become must-see and must-hear experiences at vintage racing events.
