Healthcare AI is moving beyond prediction tools to systems that help guide real decisions in patient care and research — a shift Mayo Clinic leaders say could reshape how healthcare organizations deliver care.

This shift was a key focus of Mayo Clinic's AI Research Summit, where 750 researchers, clinicians, AI scientists, engineers and students, including residents and fellows, gathered June 4–5 in Rochester, Minnesota, and online.

Speakers highlighted emerging approaches such as multi-agentic AI, in which multiple AI agents work together on complex tasks, and simulations that use real-world data to test ideas faster.
