![Animating LEDs with a micro:bit
In this video, Natasha continues her LED snowflake circuit sculpture by connecting it to a micro:bit and bringing it to life with animation and sound interaction. She walks through how the LED filament groups are mapped to pins, how early animation ideas evolved once everything was powered up, and how she had to rethink her approach after running into the micro:bit’s analog pin limitations. Along the way, she shares practical build decisions, small problems that nearly derailed the project, and why switching from smooth fades to bold digital animation actually made the final result stronger. ![How to Build an RF Modulator with a Pi Pico to Play Games on a Sony Watchman CRT
Andy takes a 1987 Sony Watchman portable CRT TV and transforms it into a working retro arcade system, without modifying the TV itself. Using a Raspberry Pi Pico, custom NTSC video generation, a hand-built RF modulator, and an Atari joystick, he codes an original Space Invaders–style game that broadcasts wirelessly to the Watchman. Along the way, he tackles composite video generation from scratch, resistor ladder DAC design, precise timing with PIO and DMA, and building RF circuitry from a 1985 magazine schematic.
