rival medley: inspired by akeboshi rockets. just wanted to go full ham and make an emotional, energetic, you-can-do-anything anime OP. :) i borrowed from may/brandan's encounter theme, their battle theme, and ever grande city. it's probably one of my favourites on the album. it feels like remembering a great friend whose kindness you'll always cherish.
this one seems to be the most popular off the album according to spotify analytics and it makes me proud lol. brendan/may's enocounter theme was always a cool melody to me and nobody remixes it!!! well: here u go :3 there's a duality in the song writing here where two lead melodies will interact or otherwise call and respond, so i envisioned it like brendan/may themselves were singing dual parts. still think the use of the battle theme in the right ear during the chorus was clever of me ngl ngl. since most of the album has a lot of melancholy, i hope this one comes across joyous and grateful. may/brendan will probably always be my favourite rivals entirely due to their associated music :3
