Sounds like an odious task
But it’s there I unmasked what’s to come
And then some

Seedlings and worms intertwined
Patterns in spectacular form
Friction so tight I might witness a spark
A spark in the dark

Soon there’ll be something of beauty to grasp
Simplicity new to our hearts
There in the grass

Intricate tunnels and caves
An alternate world neath our feet
Never missing a notion or beet
That’s word on the street

The seedlings take root and are spread
Not unlike buttering bread
Or like you on your bed
Just having a rest

Let them break through the earth
Rise on up out of the dirt
Let’s give what they take, a rod and some bait
Supply them with cake
