Towards the end of his tour of duty in the Balkans, Craig Harrison picked up a sniper rifle for the first time. Firing the Dragunov SVD Soviet sniper rifle down range, he hit a tree trunk and practically split it in half. From that moment on he knew that for the remainder of his military career, a powerful and deadly sniper rifle would be his weapon of choice.
What he didn’t know was that years later while serving in Afghanistan, he would make not one, but two of the most astonishing sniper shots ever witnessed, but not with this gun though. This is the story of Craig Harrison’s remarkable 2,475 metre or 2,707 yards double kill.
