There was no doubt that Stage 5 of the Vuelta a España 2026 was going to end in a sprint, and teams spent much of the day making sure their sprinters were in position to execute their plans.

Team Visma | Lease a Bike again proved to be the strongest squad, with 21-year-old Matthew Brennan powering to victory.

Brennan’s Grand Tour debut already included a win in Stage 2.
