Liberty Counsel founder and president Matt Staver joins the program to discuss the Nehemiah Alliance and its call for 52 days of prayer, fasting, and repentance beginning September 10.
Staver explains that the effort is patterned after the biblical account of Nehemiah. After receiving permission to return to Jerusalem and rebuild its wall, Nehemiah and the people prayed, fasted, repented, and completed the work in 52 days. Organizers hope to bring believers together across America and around the world with that same focus on prayer and repentance.
The conversation also looks at the role prayer has played throughout American history. Staver points to the nation’s founding and discusses why the 250th anniversary of the United States presents an opportunity for Christians to seek God for revival, reformation, and transformation.
Walker and Staver also discuss religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, the Supreme Court, and why they believe Christians cannot become complacent following political or cultural victories.
The 52-day effort begins September 10 and continues through the end of October, culminating with an event in Washington, D.C. that Staver says will be shared internationally.
