SmackDown gave us one of the most painful moments of the night when Matt Cardona stepped up to defend his wife, Chelsea Green, against Gunther — and things went VERY badly for him. Cardona tried to stand up for Chelsea, but The Ring General made an example out of him. That was brutal.
But this raises a bigger question: is WWE turning Matt Cardona into a jobber to the stars? Cardona has the experience, charisma and wrestling ability to be much more than the guy who shows up to make somebody else look strong. Getting beaten by Gunther isn't necessarily a problem — but the way WWE presents Cardona matters.
