The Yamaha artist and award winning trumpeter Matilda Lloyd was the first in a series of live webinars hosted by John Packer on 22nd April 2020.
Joining us from her parent’s home in rural Kent Matilda answered questions sent in from the public about her life as a trumpeter, and also practical playing tips.
Matilda burst into the public eye back in 2014 when she was the winner of the BBC Radio 2s Young Brass Award AND winner of the BBC Young Musician of the Year Brass final.
In 2016, Matilda gave her BBC Proms solo debut; performing at the Royal Albert Hall with the BBC Philharmonic. She has also performed at other prestigious venues across the city, not to mention winning more national and international awards.
