An Evening with... Mathias Brandewinder, Milan, April 9 2018.
When the expert is in town... go listen to the expert! :-)
All the way from San Francisco, California, making its appearance at our meetup (organised thanks to our friends Coworking Login/Log.ED Milano) was Mathias Brandewinder, who was in Milan on April 9-10 2018 for his two-day workshop "Practical Machine Learning with Functional Programming (bit.ly/MathiasBrandewinder_MachineLearning_FunctionalProgramming_Workshop_YT).
Author of the book “Machine Learning Projects for .NET Developers”, Mathias Brandewinder is 360° expert of all the things Microsoft, F# and Machine Learning.
He’s a board member of the F# Software Foundation, and he’s been involved in exploring the correlation between functional programming and machine learning.
As you can read in our in-depth interview with him (link: http://blog.avanscoperta.it/it/2018/02/08/when-man-and-machine-learning-collide/), Mathias is also a very active member of the tech community so we couldn't help but asking him to join us for a new meetup and here we go! :-)
Title: Deep Learning with CNTK and F#
Deep Learning is a powerful and mysterious sounding Machine Learning technique. It is based on neural networks, and has shown impressive results in areas as different as computer vision, speech recognition, or automated language translation. And, with the recent release of the Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit (CNTK) .NET API, it is now possible to train and use deep learning models in .NET.
In this talk, Mathias will introduce some of the ideas behind the approach, explain how it works behind the scenes, and demonstrate how F# makes it easy to learn models from data and used them from within your .NET code.
So put your thinking cap on and join Mathias to learn more on Machine Learning and Deep Learning with a .NET twist!
