🧠 The 11× Trick (Two-Digit Numbers)
Rule:
👉 Add the two digits and put the sum in the middle.
Example
34 × 11
Separate digits → 3 | 4
Add them → 3 + 4 = 7
Insert the sum → 374
✔️ Answer: 374
🚨 When the Sum Is 10 or More (Carry Rule)
Example
58 × 11
Digits → 5 | 8
Add → 13
Put 3 in the middle
Carry 1 to the first digit
Result:
First digit: 5 + 1 = 6
Middle: 3
Last digit: 8
✔️ 638
🔢 Three-Digit Numbers (Still Works!)
Rule: Add neighboring digits from right to left.
Example
314 × 11
Write digits spaced:
3 1 4
Add neighbors:
Right → 4
Middle → 1 + 4 = 5
Left → 3 + 1 = 4
Far left → 3
✔️ 3454
