How do you actually learn Moe Norman’s Single Plane Swing — or any new golf swing? In this camp session, Todd Graves takes it back to basics and tells the real story of how he rebuilt his swing to match the greatest ball striker who ever lived.

Here’s the short answer: don’t practice ball flight — match the model. Todd bought two TV sets and two VCRs, put Moe Norman on one screen and himself on the other, and matched the model frame by frame. He hit balls into nets so the result couldn’t tempt him into changes, held each position until he could feel it, and wrote the feelings down so he could find them again the next day. “My game was not hit the ball better. My game was swing like Moe.” Once the movement matched, the ball striking followed on its own.

Also in this session:
- Driver tee height: why teeing it higher (and catching the upper part of the face) drops spin from ~3,100 to ~2,100 RPM — and why that low-spin “knuckleball” flight wins, especially into the wind
- Hitting it high on the face? The two things Todd checks first: ball position and a steep path
- Why you can’t “shallow the club” without wrist hinge (radial deviation)
- What Todd feels at address: 50/50 weight, behind the ball, and the trail shoulder working under and through
- Position holds: the exact practice session Todd used to build his swing
- The grip fix that ended his closed-clubface fight, and “head reversal” — the impact tip Moe gave him

The through-line: golf is not easy, but there’s an easier way to swing a golf club. Stop manipulating the club, master the positions, and let the club do its work.
