Match Day Celebrates Milestone for UVA Class of 2025!
On Match Day, the UVA School of Medicine MD Class of 2025 opened their envelopes at 12 p.m. to learn where they will spend the next 3-7 years of their lives during residency. The celebration at Old Cabell Hall was a joyful day for medical students and their loved ones.

My name is Georgia Borgarelli, and I hope to match up in family medicine here at UVA.
My name is Zollie White. The perfect match for me is anesthesiology.
My name is Cheyenne Painte,r and I applied to match and to pathology
Was the day of the match and all through Hoo-land UVA. Med students gather their futures in hand.
I initially got into medicine honestly, through biomedical research, but since being there, getting to see patients, and meeting them where they are and using my expertise and knowledge to, you know, really sustain and help advance their lives, as something like no other profession.
I think for me, it has really been about getting involved in the community and learning about the people that we serve as medical students, as health care providers. I think that reminds me, that I'm treating people at the end of the day, and I'm in the business of people. I'm not in the business of disease.
I'm sitting next to my friends and we're wondering, where are we going to go? What what it's going to be like, how we've been together for some years now. And how that all changed, all from opening an envelope. But we're excited to better know what's going on on stage. Our hearts are beating faster. Just ready or ready to now.
When I get that envelope, I'm going to feel a lot of excitement, a lot of fear, but a lot of pride.
It's about seeing your dreams take shape. Embracing your future and stepping into a career where you are going to change lives.
Honestly, I don't think I could have gone back in time and found a better fit.
It really, really, really takes a village for one medical student to make it to match.
