Matador just did that: instead of chasing one better bag, they spent 3 years reengineering their entire range as one connected system, sharing hardware, materials, and components across every pack, sling, and duffel.

The payoff is that bags lare anding 20% cheaper, while other parts of the industry gets pricier.
