Knowing how to quickly start a fire in a survival situation could save your life. In this bushcraft survival video I'll go over some techniques for getting the most our of a ferro rod. I often get comments from people who wonder why I even bother carrying a ferro rod, claiming that a Bic lighter is far superior. Truth is, I do carry a lighter. But I also always have a ferro rod in my pack because, whereas a lighter can break, run out of fuel, or get clogged with dirt or lent, a ferro rod will work under any conditions, even when soaking wet. So even if you carry a lighter, I'd recommend having a ferro rod as a backup in any survival kit or emergency bag. This video will give you some tips and tricks for using one to start a fire in any conditions.
