Master Bedroom Makeover | Dark Accent Wall | Bedroom Makeover
Hello and welcome back to another video. Today I am going to share with you all how I transformed my master bedroom. This transformation is going to be rental friendly. We currently live on a military base instillation. We can’t do much to the houses so I decided the best way to make a big impact was to paint a feature wall. I wanted to have a hotel feel in my room. We decide to go with a dark wall. We chose the color naval by Sherwin Williams. It is a beautiful dark navy color. Let’s empty out the room and get the wall ready to paint.
This color is such a rich but relaxing color. It definitely made a big impact in the room. It really gave the room that hotel luxury feel.
Now that the paint has dried we can start putting the bedroom together. Our bed is a king sized bed. It fit the room well. Most of the items I have in this room were thrifted. The headboard was found on Facebook marketplace for $75. It is one of my favorite finds. If you remember the previous bedside tables were too small for the room. The tables were actually my old sofa tables. I decided to go with a three drawer dresser for the sides of the bed. I thrifted these for $35 each and I have a video here on YouTube on how I transformed them to fit my style. You can check the transformation video out by clicking the video link in my description. For the bedding I wanted a crisp white. I love white bedding because it’s easy to wash and it has so much versatility. You can really switch it up just by adding different throw blankets and pillows. The bedding and the big white pillows are from Ikea. The yellow pillow covers are from Ikea as well, The home sweet home pillow is from Kirklands.
I always feel like a room is not complete with out adding curtains to frame the windows. I feel like it really ties everything together. I bought these sheer curtains from Ikea. Ikea has so much affordable home decor! I love that store.
Now it is time to find something to hang on the top of the bed. I am gonna show you a few options. I loved this big blessed sign. I thought it fit very nicely. I also tried this ladder and wreath but I though it was to small and it kinda blended into the wall. I wanted something that would pop. Then I remember that I had some shutters that I thrifted a while ago. I decided to paint them white and distress them a little. I added the wreath for extra pop and contrast. This was what I decided to keep up.
I also brought in a blanket ladder to cozy up the space, This blanket ladder was a DIY and I will be making a video tutorial soon.
I added a bench to the end of the bed. I found this bench at Tjmaxx. I added a fluffy throw blanket to make the bed look extra cozy. I got this blanket from a white elephant game during Christmas. I believe it’s from Sams club.
I am so in love with how this room turned out. I love waking up in this room now. It feels like an oasis after a long day. Let me know what you think in the comments. I hope you enjoyed this video!
